As a reader pointed out, yesterday’s notice about the GOTS live thread had an error in the date though the day (Thursday) and time (8PM Eastern Standard Time) were correct. This thread is now live. I had mistakenly written the date of the live thread as 26 April because it is 26 April for me, but the correct date for the West was 25 April as it is still the 25th in North America.
I am the reader who requested that you hold another GOTS serssion. I missed the 1-day notice you gave about this meeting. Been waiting a long time for another chance. Is the recording going to be made accessible for those of us who didn't attend or is it only going to be comments we can read again?
This is a good idea, and could be a source of knowledge.
OK, here goes. As I understand it, "Getting out of the system" means being able to survive independently, and without the support of "the system". That is "off grid" for electric power, but speaking metaphorically, includes multiple areas of life.
What are those?
1. Food, shelter, energy, water--not so hard if you can find good rural property.
2. Medical and dental care--OK, this can generally be paid for privately, but a disaster back-up plan might be a good idea.
But the following are difficult, because they require interaction with big organizations:
3. Finance--Precious metals and barter can solve some of the problems But what about banking, moving money, paying for property, goods and services. (Example--Move money to another country and buy rural property there.)
4. Taxes--including Income Tax, Property Tax, Other business taxes for which a report is required.
5. Licenses and documentation from Government--Examples--Title to property, Drivers License,
6.. Education for children, where laws compel children to attend school.
7. Interaction with government requiring unwanted or unneeded vaccinations.
